While I have such anxiety over going to the dentist I love how the second i walk in I'm greeted with smiles. I feel like family walking in. The hygienists are always friend and kind. They are very knowledgeable as I ask questions. Dr Walton always calms my nerves. Especially when getting work done. Thank you to all staff for making my dentist experience so good!

Dr Walton AND staff are the best at offering quality dental care and comfort. For many years I was retroactive with my care and now I am there 3 times a year.

I have terrible anxiety regarding dentists and I have difficulty getting numb, Dr. Walton is the first dentist to ever work through this with me. I would recommend him to everyone, especially individuals with fear of dental procedures...

Sandy

Dr. Dunn and Latavia, her dental assistant were absolutely wonderful. Easy to talk to. Dr. Dunn was assuring and I felt confident in her assessment of my dental examination. I would hands down recommended Walton dental group from the receptionist that answered my call to the Dr!

Answers to Common Questions About Conscious Sedation

We want to alleviate any fears you may have about coming to the dentist or receiving conscious sedation before a procedure. Here are answers to common questions we receive.

  • We’ll determine your sedation needs prior to your procedure. You may receive inhalation, oral or IV sedation based on your health history and type of procedure.

  • While any procedure has risks, we take every precaution before administering sedative medication to any patient. We’ll review your health history to ensure you can tolerate the medication and monitor you throughout the entire procedure.

  • Depending on the type of sedation you receive, the effects could be almost immediate, like in the case of IV sedation, or take thirty minutes to an hour if the sedative is administered orally.

  • Based on the type of sedation you receive the effects many only last a few minutes after the procedure or up to a few hours. Most common side effects post-sedation include drowsiness, heaviness or having trouble remembering the procedure.
