Akron Smile is Now Walton Dental Group. New Name, Same Friendly Faces.

We’re excited to celebrate an important update with you, our patients and community. Akron Smile is officially changing our name to Walton Dental Group! 

You will still have the warm, welcoming patient experience you know and love. Our new name is simply a better reflection of who we are and what we stand for!

So why are we changing the name after all these years? 

1. Dr. Walton joined the practice in 2007 and has served as a Principal Dentist since 2015. Walton Dental Group is the right name for our growing practice moving forward. 
2. Speaking of growth, we’ve expanded! In 2025, Dr. Walton acquired two new locations in Stark County. Walton Dental Group includes practice locations in Canton and Alliance — expanding access for our patients.
3. We heard feedback from many of you that the name Akron Smile had created confusion with other practices in the Akron area. While this was not the primary factor for the name change, we wanted to ensure the exceptional high-end care we provide patients was not confused with other offices. 

What This Means For You!

Nothing! 🙂 Everything you know about our office, our team and the experience will remain the same. You will see new signage, an updated website and the new name throughout!

In the event Dr. Walton is not in the office, you will have access to additional coverage from the dental teams and doctors in Canton and Alliance.
